Municipality Radatice, Radatice, Slovakia

Radatice Manor

Radatice is situated in the southeastern part of the Šariš Highlands at an altitude of about 285 m, at the confluence of the Chujava and Žarinec streams, with the Svinka watercourse. This eastern Slovak municipality belongs to the Čierna hora micro-region. The village was founded in 1964 by the merger of the villages of Meretice and Radačov. There is a national cultural monument, which is a late-classical manor house, where you can find the municipal office, library, gym and common room.

The late-classical manor house from 1863 was originally a one-storey block longitudinal building, with a bay in the centre of the main transept and a perpendicularly built two-storey extension. Later, the mansion was altered to a two-winged building. On the second storey at the corner are grouped pilasters with cornice capitals. The rooms have flat ceilings, some of which are covered with cornice and mirror vaulting.
