Šariš region became part of one of the most important world events - 2026 Winter Olympics. During the Olympics in Milan, we were given the opportunity to present our identity, culture and tourism potential in an official Slovak house: Casa Slovacca in the Galleria Meravigli.
Casa Slovacca - meeting place and presentation of Slovakia
Casa Slovacca was the meeting point for athletes, delegations, media and the public during the Olympic days. In addition to the sporting atmosphere, on 19-20 February it offered a space for the presentation of Slovak regions, culture and tourism.
In a pleasant environment full of conversations, tastings and networking, new contacts and opportunities for cooperation were created. It was a unique opportunity for our region to show that we have something to offer not only to domestic but also to foreign visitors.
How the Šariš Region presented itself
Šariš presented its diversity - from the natural beauty of the mountains Chergov a Slanské vrchy, through historical landmarks to authentic traditions, monuments and uniqueness.
Visitors to our stand were most interested in the historical centre of the city Bardejov, which belongs to UNESCO, wooden churches Carpathian Wooden Way, Opal mines with the stone of kings - opal, castles a Culture of the nation, from folklore to the specialties of our gastronomy. The audience was most interested in Prešov strawberry wine, Šariš beer and in the restaurant visitors had the opportunity to taste Slovak bryndzové halušky and other delicacies.
Encounters and visitor reactions
The presentation brought a lot of interesting meetings - with foreign tourists, partners and Slovaks living in Italy, to whom we introduced a number of sights and attractions that are still worth returning to their native region.
The event also included an expert lecture for Italian tour operators who expressed interest in Slovakia and the Šariš region as a lesser known, but all the more attractive destination that offers peace, experiences and real stories.
The presentation at Casa Slovacca showed that Šariš can reach an international audience.
Thank you to everyone who participated in this representation and to all the visitors who stopped by, got to know our region and took a piece of Šariš with them.
Šariš has a lot to offer - and the world is ready to discover it.
