13.03. - 29.05.2026: Dialogue of generations: sculpture and painting in the Gibal family
The exhibition reveals the life and work of the important Slovak sculptor Fraň Gibala. Next to his
sculptures and sculptural drawings, visitors will discover the paintings of his daughter, which together
form an interesting dialogue of generations in different forms of expression, in matter and colour.

22.01. - 29.05.2026: Important personalities of Prešov musical and cultural life (Ján
Pöschl, Viliam Tarjányi)
The panel exhibition presents the personalities of the Prešov brass band on the occasion of the 135.
anniversary of the birth of J. Pöschl and the 100th anniversary of the birth of V. Tarjányi. Via
panels, archival materials and authentic objects brings their musical and cultural
legacy and significance for the Slovak music scene.

15.9.2025 - 29.05.2026: From the Little Maly - Zhiňaj bučka od maľučka
Panel exhibition realized by the Regional Museum in Prešov on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of his death
and the 105th anniversary of Ján Lazorík's birth presents through his unique
photographs and memories of memoirs of the foundations of morality and ethical education of children in the village
environment. It draws attention to the importance of family and community upbringing, which played
a crucial role in the transmission of experience, the formation of work habits and ethical attitudes.

2. Events:
13.03. - 29.05.2026: Small Artists Studio - workshop for the exhibition Dialogue of Generations
Creative workshop for children from kindergartens and pupils from primary school to the exhibition Dialogue of Generations: Sculpture
and painting in the Gibal family. Through the playful elements of museum pedagogy, children
get acquainted with sculpture and painting, play a movement game with sculptures and create their own
a sculpture made of foil or plasticine.
Reservations are required in advance by phone or e-mail.

05.05.2026 at 5:00 pm: Tea at Rákoci's - The Story of Generations: Gibala and Daughter
A side event to the exhibition Dialogue of Generations: Sculpture and Painting in the Gibal Family will bring to light
life and selected works from the work of the important Slovak sculptor Fraň Gibala. Event
will be enriched by the personal recollections of his daughter Daniela Elena Hrtkova and her husband, who will add
expert interpretation of authentic experiences and family stories.

16.05.2026 from 15:00 to 20:00: Night of museums and galleries
During the Night of Museums and Galleries, the Regional Museum in Prešov invites you to a varied programme full of
art, history and experiences for all ages. Visitors can enjoy
performances by pupils of the Miroslav Kobelák Primary Art School, current exhibitions,
guided tours and creative activities for children. The main attraction will be the display of
of restored portraits of the Imperial-Royal Majesties together with an expert lecture.

3. Education:
Living museum - museum pedagogy in practical history teaching.
The Regional Museum in Prešov offers pupils from 5th to 9th grade of primary schools non-traditional lessons
history directly in the museum. They will learn about the curriculum through
authentic historical objects and documents. In addition, the Living Museum project complements
teaching with projections, animations and audiovisual demonstrations that make history
an experience, not just a learning experience.
Educational topics for practical teaching of history in the Regional Museum in Prešov:

electrification, motorisation)
