Spring holidays at Šariš Castle
During the spring holidays in the Prešov and Košice regions you can create a programme at Šariš Castle. On this occasion, the castle and the archaeological park will be open during the whole week. During the individual days you can enjoy a special programme.
MONDAY: Donjon Tower and entrance to the Lapidarium
TUESDAY: Treasure hunt - adventure game for children
WEDNESDAY: Archery, tug-of-war, treasure hunt
THURSDAY: Castle Post, drawing, treasure hunt

If you don't want to focus on just one castle, during the week you can visit several castles, castle ruins or manor houses or castles that are part of the Šariš Castle Route. The great holiday opal hunt for little adventurers
The unique Slovak Opal Mines offer a programme for small adventurers during the whole duration of the spring holidays in Slovakia (17.2 - 7.3.).
Children will go into the depths of the world's oldest opal mines, where they will learn about the underground passages, listen to the stories of the old miners and become little explorers themselves. They will search for precious opal and each participant will get the chance to find their own „treasure“ to take home.
The organizers will take care of the helmet and you should bring your children lamps, flashlights, some hammers or hoes or rakes.
Individual opal searches take place at 10:30 during the holidays in the following parts of Slovakia:
Eastern Slovakia: 2. 3., 4. 3., 6. 3.
Western Slovakia: 16. 2., 18. 2., 20. 2.
Central Slovakia: 23. 2., 25. 2., 27. 2.

ICE SKATING
During spring break you can also enjoy active recreation on the ice. Skating is an ideal family activity that combines exercise, fun and enjoyable time together. The region's indoor ice rinks offer public skating for children and adults, so beginners and those who just want to keep in winter shape will find something to do. You can choose from skating on:

HIKING IN NATURE
Spring holidays are also an ideal time for hiking in nature, which the Šariš region offers in all its authenticity. The awakening forests of Čergov and the trails in the Slanské hory Mountains attract both family walks and more demanding hikes. With the slight warming, the amount of snow is decreasing, but the ski resorts are still snowy and operational. You can also spend your spring holidays in Šariš actively on the slopes. Ski resorts like Drienica But Lysá offer ideal conditions for families with children and recreational skiers - groomed slopes, children's lifts and pleasant facilities. You can easily check their social media for the latest information on the state of the slopes, the weather or the operation.
Rest and relaxation
If you want to slow down during the holidays and treat yourself to a well-deserved rest, Šariš offers a number of options where you can recharge your batteries.
