Drienov became the seat of the Drienov branch of the Abov family, and the lords also had a castle or a ground-floor castle in the village. It is said to have been a wooden building, perhaps an earthen-wooden one. However, it is certain that it could not provide the desired security. Especially not at the time of two Tatar raids. Apparently, already the first Tatar invasion forced the family to build a more secure residence that would be able to protect them from the enemy. They chose a forest hilly massif above the valley of the Svinka river. The inconspicuous hill, today called Z\u00e1m\u010disko (360 m above sea level), has steep slopes and is accessible only from the eastern side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There is a legend about the Obi\u0161ov castle that still fascinates treasure hunters today. A more recent archaeological research has also discovered a strange document which states that on the hill opposite the castle, across the village, there is a basket full of gold buried there by bandits. It is said to be a hill called Hrunok.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the past, it served as a strategic place to connect Kysak Castle with Solnohrad. Extensive archaeological excavations have been carried out at Hrunka, but nothing has been found to date. What is the truth of this is left to the imagination of each visitor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The information about two castles above Obi\u0161ovce remains a legend and a fact.
