The Sharis region is truly beautiful. Soothed nature. The valleys are adorned with green mountains and gushing streams and rivers flow through them. In the middle of \u0160ari\u0161 there are two big mountains: Lys\u00e1 and Ve\u013ek\u00e1 Str\u00e1\u017e. Below Str\u00e1\u017e lies the mighty Slavic castle of Tubul, which was renamed \u0160ari\u0161. The castle was home to the brave Slavic prince Sv\u00e4taboy of the Duklanc family. He embraced the Christian faith and was baptized by St. Cyril, and when he went among the Slovak people he demolished pagan temples all over the countryside and built Christian tabernacles in their place. The people loved him, were devoted and loyal to him. Even the Hungarian ruler Belo II himself heard about Sv\u00e4taboy, who had lived through bad times among his Hungarian subjects. But the great enemy was the pagan knight Kund. He lived dishonestly, stole, plundered and tormented the Slovak people. He hucked the Hungarian subjects against the king and the Christians. He also wanted to reach the king's crown by dishonourable marriages. He asked Bela II to give him his beloved daughter, the beautiful and beautiful Elizabeth, as his wife. The king did not comply with this bold and daring request, for he knew of Kunda's cruelty. He loved his child and wished her another life. Kund was about to punish such an insult with blood and ambushed the king on the road. He pecked his eyes out as he still disagreed with his request. He tortured the beautiful Elizabeth in this way and wanted to force a vow of marriage. But the Christian people from under the castle of \u0160ari\u0161 helped the king and his family to escape from Kunda's captivity and to take refuge under the protection of the brave Sv\u00e4taboy in his castle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The royal family lived there contentedly. The pinnacle of happiness was when he learned that St. James's pure love had kindled for his daughter Elizabeth, and that Elizabeth would reciprocate it. They fixed the day of the wedding. The whole of \u0160ari\u0161 was preparing for this joyful event. The devas embroidered a wedding garment for the beautiful bride. Preparations were in full swing, but Kund learned of this and turned white with cruel anger. He swore a terrible vengeance on the entire royal family and on the Holy Boy. He gathered an army of pagan youths and flew with the wind to race for the castle. Here there was already rejoicing, and so nothing was suspected in Saris. The feast had just begun when Kund halted under the castle gate and launched a terrific attack. They quickly closed the castle gates and prepared to defend themselves. But the enemy was very powerful, attacking the ramparts and rushing through the moats to the castle fortifications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Every living soul stood ready to lay down his life for his master. The dashing maidens they invited to the wedding fought heroically on the ramparts. How many Slovak whores died on the walls, so many stars flew down on the Sharis region. The fewer the whores on the walls, the thicker the earth was strewn with golden stars. When Elizabeth saw that the battle was over and the pagans were winning. She threw herself into the arms of her beloved and burst into tears. Even St. James saw that resistance was futile; they hid in the tower. In prayer they asked God for mercy and salvation for their souls. Together they jumped from the tower to save the purity of their beloved Elizabeth from pagan defilement. The Slovaks at Lys\u00e1 and Ve\u013ek\u00e1 Str\u00e1\u017e still set up large bonfires at the beginning of the battle as a sign that the enemy had attacked and the castle had been overrun. Whole Shiites flocked to the rescue to help their beloved lord. They ambushed the pagans from the back and overpowered them. But in vain they sought their lord. In a deep abyss the saintly boy lay lifeless, and over him his beloved Elizabeth wept sedately, who, in her fall, caught herself on the branches and so saved her life. But she could not bring her beloved back to life even by weeping. Instead of a joyful wedding feast, a mourning carriage was held in the castle, and instead of joy, bitter sorrow was felt throughout the whole of \u0160ari\u0161.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Elizabeth never married. She founded a monastery and built a chapel on the place where St. James was killed, which still stands in \u0160ari\u0161 and bears the name of Elizabeth. When Elizabeth died, she was buried in it next to her fianc\u00e9. Her grave was found in 1801 and the crown ornament was taken to a museum in Vienna. The stars do fall in \u0160ari\u0161 from time to time.
